Iuri Tavares Transfer from Charlotte to Varaždin
Iuri Tavares, a 24-year-old winger from Cape Verde, has agreed to join Varaždin, a Croatian first league club. He will be joining on a free transfer from the American club Charlotte, which will retain 20% of any future transfer fee. This transfer is considered a major boost for the team ahead of the European qualifiers and their match against Portugal's Santa Clara in the Conference League. Tavares lost his position in Charlotte's first team, where he made seven appearances this season without scoring or providing an assist. Over his time with Charlotte, he scored three goals and made two assists in 39 appearances. He had been a teammate of Croatian goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina. Tavares began his football career at Benfica's renowned youth academy, later moving on to play for Vitória Guimarães and briefly for Estoril before his move to the USA.
