Villarreal is monitoring Issa Doumbia, a 22-year-old Italian-Ivorian midfielder who is contracted to Venezia FC until June 2029. Other clubs monitoring the player are Atalanta Bergamo, AS Roma, Benfica, and Sporting CP. RC Strasbourg also has a particular interest. Scouts from these clubs were observed at the Penzo Stadium during the Venezia-Parma match. The estimated transfer fee for Doumbia is €15 million. The player, who joined Venezia in July 2024, has a current market value of €8.00m according to Transfermarkt and has been capped three times for Italy's U21 team. In April 2026, Venezia's asking price was reported to be a firm €15 million, at which time Beşiktaş was said to have made an official offer of that amount.
