Argentinian-Malaysian right winger Imanol Machuca, 26, was on loan at Vélez from Fortaleza de Brasil. Following a FIFA ruling, he was suspended for one year due to document falsification to play for the Malaysia national team. His loan at Vélez ended in December, but after the TAS temporarily suspended the ruling in January, Vélez re-signed him on loan until the end of the year with an option to terminate in June. The appeals tribunal later upheld the sentence, and Vélez decided to execute the rescission clause at the end of the month. Machuca will not continue with the team. His suspension will continue until November 1, as the time was interrupted during his detention.
