According to a B92 report, Pozo is in the last year of his contract with his Croatian club, contacts have been established with Partizan, and negotiations are ongoing. The report states that, according to available information, the player has shown great interest in moving to Belgrade. The same report states that claims are not accurate that Partizan sent an offer of more than 1.5 million euros which was rejected. There is speculation that former vice-president for sports, Predrag Mijatović, is involved in the potential transfer; however, it is reported that Pozo was identified by the coaching staff led by Srđan Blagojević. The coaching staff analyzed several potential signings in the spring, including Pozo, before presenting his name to general director Danko Lazović. There was a joint assessment that he could be a significant reinforcement for Partizan's midfield.

According to Sportske Novosti, Iker Pozo is a target for Belgrade's Partizan. This is one of several offers that sports director Boštjan Blažinčič has already received for Pozo. The goal of the club is to earn three million euros.

Gorica rejected a €1.5M bid from Serbian club FK Partizan for Spanish midfielder Iker Pozo, who is 25, following the midfielder's great season.
