Atletico Madrid tried to sign Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno during the summer transfer window. The club had monitored Bueno during the summer. According to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, they increased their efforts and tried to sign the Spaniard. It is not clear what caused the deal to not go through, which denied Bueno the chance to play for a club in his homeland for the first time in his career.
