Hélio Varela, a 23-year-old Cape Verdean winger who was acquired for over three million last year, is being considered for transfer by AA Gent after being deemed surplus to requirements. His contract with the club runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.20m. Maccabi Tel Aviv has been linked with the player.
