According to 90min, Barcelona and Elche Club de Fútbol have agreed on a loan deal for Héctor Fort, which will last until June 30, 2026. The agreement states that Fort will spend the 2025–26 season playing on loan at Elche. This move was officially confirmed by Barcelona on the deadline day. Fort is set to be the second Barcelona player to join Elche on loan in recent times, following Iñaki Peña. Elche, who have recently been promoted to La Liga, managed to secure Fort's services despite interest from Mallorca. The decision to loan Fort was made by Barcelona due to the current right-back situation at the club, where Eric García is favored over Fort in light of Jules Koundé's injury. This arrangement will allow Fort to gain regular playing experience while maintaining his contract with Barcelona, which runs until 2029. Before joining Elche in their battle to avoid relegation, Fort will represent Spain in the U–20 World Cup.
