Reports claim Liverpool are now monitoring Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan, who also holds French nationality, following an impressive World Cup campaign that has reportedly increased his value. The 24-year-old Egyptian international has also been linked with Olympique Marseille and has been the subject of a significant pursuit by Celtic. Celtic are said to have had an opening offer of around £3.5 million rejected by the Spanish club. While there were unverified initial reports of a €4 million bid, journalist Christian Vaquero believes the Scottish champions will return with an improved offer of approximately €8 million. However, any serious move from the Premier League side would likely alter the dynamics of the transfer, as it is thought Celtic would find it difficult to compete financially and in terms of the prestige Liverpool possesses. Hassan, who has 5 caps for Egypt, is under contract until June 2027, having joined from Villarreal in August 2024 for €1.5 million. Reports in July 2026 mentioned a release clause of around £10 million, while a rejected offer from Trabzonspor in December 2025 was reportedly worth €6 million plus add-ons. His current Transfermarkt valuation is €3.5 million.
