Real Oviedo's Egyptian international winger Haissem Hassan attracted interest from Burnley, the French club Marseille, and teams from Saudi Arabia, but the 24-year-old is reportedly set to join Celtic. The player, who became a priority target for Martin O’Neill, is due in Glasgow for a medical before a proposed £9 million signing. Hassan, who also holds French nationality, joined Oviedo in August 2024 for a reported €1.5m and has a contract that expires in June 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €8.00m. Reports in August 2026 cited varying fees for the Celtic transfer, from €6m to a structured offer that could rise to approximately €10.5m, while during the same period, Marseille reportedly made an €8.5m offer plus bonuses.
