Ashdod from Israel is reportedly interested in signing Gustavo Assunção, along with other clubs. The player's current club, AVS, wants to retain him and renew his contract. In addition to Ashdod, Greek club Volos and Moroccan team Wydad Casablanca are also keen on acquiring the Brazilian defensive midfielder. Assunção, who is 25 years old, has a background with the academies of Porto and Atletico Madrid and has previously played for Galatasaray in Turkey. Last season, he made 24 appearances for AVS, scoring four goals.
