Guido Burgstaller is back at SK Rapid, with the club announcing on Thursday that the 36-year-old will work as a striker coach in their academy. This appointment comes just a few weeks after he took on a role as an individual coach with the U19 national team, a position he will hold concurrently. In a club statement, the former Austrian international said he is very motivated for the new role at his favourite club, adding that he has already worked with some of the academy talents in the national team setup. He also thanked Steffen Hofmann and Willi Schuldes for the trust they have shown in him.
