Union SG intends to acquire 23-year-old American winger Griffin Yow on a free transfer in the summer. The club will not attempt to sign him in January or offer a transfer fee to Westerlo. Other Belgian clubs are also interested in Yow; AA Gent, Anderlecht, Royal Antwerp FC, and Club Brugge have all included him on their shortlists, although none have taken decisive action. Westerlo previously rejected offers for the player valued between €1 million and €1.5 million. The club instead demanded a €4 million fee, which no club was willing to pay.
