Botafogo has reached an agreement with Al Rayyan for the sale of midfielder Gregore, as confirmed on Tuesday night by Ge and ESPN. Gregore is set to play his farewell match for Botafogo against Vitória before moving to Al Rayyan, a team managed by Artur Jorge. The negotiation concluded after meetings involving John Textor, Paulo Pitombeira, and Alessandro Brito. Al Rayyan had shown interest in Gregore since January, although an initial offer was turned down. Gregore was specifically sought by coach Artur Jorge, under whom he had previously secured the Brazilian league and CONMEBOL Libertadores titles while at Botafogo. Since joining Botafogo in early 2024, Gregore has played 83 matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His last goal was pivotal in securing the Brazilian league title for Botafogo against São Paulo last year.
