Cruzeiro is interested in signing 32-year-old Brazilian midfielder Gregore at the request of coach Artur Jorge, who previously managed the player at Botafogo where they won the 2024 CONMEBOL Libertadores. Artur Jorge had also requested Gregore's signing when he was in charge of Al Rayyan. Cruzeiro's desire to sign him is partly to reinforce the midfield ahead of the probable departure of Walace. At present, there have been no contacts, and discussions are not expected to begin until the middle of the year. Gregore's contract with Al Rayyan of Qatar, which he joined in July 2025, runs until mid-2027. According to ESPN, a potential negotiation will not be simple because the player is described as an undisputed starter and a key player for his team, with whom he won the Qatar Cup.
