Liverpool scouts have checked on Dutch Feyenoord midfielder Gjivai Zechiël as the club assesses its midfield options for 2027. The 22-year-old has attracted attention from a number of Premier League clubs, and Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Nottingham Forest have also shown interest. It is reported that Chelsea are particularly keen on Zechiël as they conduct their own search for midfield talent ahead of 2027. Zechiël, who joined Feyenoord in September 2023, is under contract with the Rotterdam club until June 2029 and has yet to be capped by the Netherlands at senior level. During the summer of 2026, it is reported that Feyenoord rejected multiple offers from LOSC Lille, with a final bid worth a reported €17 million including bonuses being turned down in August 2026. This month, reports mentioned a €30 million valuation by Feyenoord, while his current Transfermarkt market value is €10.00m.
