Wolfsberger AC has signed 27-year-old striker Giacomo Vrioni on a two-year contract. The native Italian and Albania international most recently played for Serie B club Cesena. This transfer reunites Vrioni with coach Thomas Silberberger, under whom he previously played at WSG Tirol during the 2021/22 season, where he was the league's top scorer with 19 goals while on loan from Juventus. After his time in Tirol, he returned to Juventus before moving to the MLS, scoring a combined 26 goals for New England and Montreal. A fibula fracture prompted his return to Europe, leading to his time at Cesena before joining Wolfsberg. Vrioni has earned 6 caps for the Albanian national team.
