Al-Ittihad has initiated discussions to acquire Zenit's 28-year-old midfielder, Gerson. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the Saudi club has identified Gerson as a major transfer target in recent weeks. Although an agreement has not yet been reached, Al-Ittihad is working towards finalizing one. Gerson, who joined Zenit on July 13, is under contract until the end of the 2029/2030 season. The Brazilian midfielder has played in six Russian Premier League matches for Zenit but has not recorded any goals or assists in these games.
