Following an injury to Lorenzo Venuti which has led Sampdoria to seek defensive reinforcements, AEK Athens' Greek centre-back Gerasimos Mitoglou, 26, has been identified as a target. Mitoglou was proposed by the club's new head scout, Samuel Cardenas, as one of several options being considered. He joined his current club in July 2021 and his contract runs until June 2026. His current market value is €700k, according to Transfermarkt. Samsunspor have also been linked with the player.
