Olympiacos has a strong interest in 24-year-old Greek defender Giorgos Vagiannidis. This interest follows the rejection by his current club, Sporting Lisbon, of the player's potential loan return to Panathinaikos. The Portuguese website 'Leonino' reported exclusively that Sporting's management clarified they would not agree to a temporary move for the defender back to the club with which they had negotiated a significant fee the previous summer. The transfer from Panathinaikos to Sporting in August 2025 had a reported base fee of €12.5 million. Vagiannidis, who has 11 caps for Greece, is contracted until 2030 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €11.00m.
