Everton are looking to sign at least one right-back this summer and have reportedly renewed their interest in Sporting CP's Georgios Vagiannidis. The club had previously shown interest in the 24-year-old Greek right-back last summer following his performances for Panathinaikos, before Sporting acquired him for approximately €13 million. Vagiannidis has since found it difficult to secure a consistent starting position in Portugal, having started only 11 league games. The player's lack of game time could lead to a departure from Sporting this summer, which has alerted Everton. Everton have made enquiries into the full-back's availability and Vagiannidis would be open to playing in a more competitive league. It is suggested that a bid of around €10 million could be sufficient to complete his transfer, a fee lower than what Sporting paid. The Greek international, who has 11 caps, has a contract with Sporting until 2030 and a release clause reportedly set at €80 million. His current market value is listed by Transfermarkt at €11.00m. Olympiakos and Panathinaikos have also been recently linked with the player.
