Aston Villa is advancing in their efforts to acquire Georges Mikautadze from Olympique Lyonnais. The ongoing discussions include an initial bid of approximately €25 million, a figure that fits within the financial constraints imposed by the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules this summer. Mikautadze has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Aston Villa. However, negotiations are set to continue as the club faces competition from other Premier League teams and a possible €40 million offer from the Saudi Pro League team Neom. Neom has already completed the signing of Mikautadze's close friend, Said Benrahma, from Lyon earlier this summer. Although Lyon is experiencing financial difficulties that have compelled them to sell players, their recruitment director has mentioned that discussions with interested clubs are ongoing but stopped short of confirming Mikautadze's sale.
