Folarin Balogun, a centre-forward and United States international, has an increasing number of clubs interested in a transfer from his current employer, Monaco. It is reported that Balogun is keen on a new challenge. According to The Athletic, Monaco could demand a fee of approximately $57 million (€50 million, £43 million) for the 24-year-old. It is claimed that Balogun could have interested clubs from most of Europe’s top leagues. Borussia Dortmund has a reputation for helping players achieve superstardom, and the opportunity to be the next such player could be appealing to Balogun as he seeks to benefit from the attention generated at the World Cup. The expected departure of current starter Serhou Guirassy would create a space in the team that Balogun could fill, and his departure would also generate most of the funds required to persuade Monaco to sell. Balogun moved to Monaco from Arsenal in August 2023 for a €30 million fee, and his contract expires in June 2028.
