According to Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope, Sunderland are preparing to try and retain Finn Geragusian. Rangers are reported to have an interest in the player, who is on a scholarship contract and can leave for €200,000/£173,000 to non-English clubs under FIFA rules.

Rangers are interested in signing Sunderland teenager Finn Geragusian and are one of numerous clubs interested in the player. Geragusian is 18 years old and his contract with Sunderland expires in the summer. Due to FIFA rules surrounding scholarship contracts, the signing could be secured for a nominal fee, and Rangers could pay as little as £173,770 to Sunderland. Teams outside of England are not subject to the same scrutiny regarding transfer fees for academy talents from English clubs. Geragusian has yet to feature in a senior game at any level, but this is set to change ahead of the international break. The Armenian player has been called up for his national team, giving Rangers an opportunity to see how he performs at that level.
