Filip Taraba Transfer from Siroki Brijeg to Istra 1961

Filip Taraba, former captain of Široki Brijeg, has joined Istra 1961 on a four-year contract. He is primarily a right-back and is part of the U21 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with two appearances. Last season, he made 34 appearances for Široki, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Istra 1961's sports director, Saša Bjelanović, praised Taraba's exceptional heart, fighting spirit, and leadership qualities, noting his ability to play in multiple defensive positions.

Filip Taraba, a promising young defender from Bosnia and Herzegovina, is on the verge of transferring to Istra 1961 from Široki Brijeg. At just 18, he has already demonstrated considerable potential by playing 39 matches in his debut senior season and earning the captain's armband. His move to Istra 1961 is awaiting formal approval. Despite his youth, Taraba has progressed to Bosnia and Herzegovina's U21 team, proving his adaptability by playing both as a right-back and a center-back under various coaches. His aggressive style of play and strong aerial capabilities, despite his shorter stature, make him a valuable prospect for Istra 1961's lineup. The incoming coach, Goran Tomić, will have the task of determining the best position to harness Taraba's talents once his transfer is finalized.
