According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Bologna is interested in Almeria's 24-year-old Italian central defender Federico Bonini for the upcoming season. A potential transfer would be a return to Italian football for the player, in Serie A, after he moved to Spain's Segunda Division last summer from Catanzaro. The move would also be beneficial for Catanzaro, which had secured a percentage of any future resale when they transferred him to Almeria. Bonini, who has been capped once by Italy's U20 team, has a contract with the Spanish club until 2031 and is valued by Transfermarkt at €3.00m. He has also been linked with Olympiakos Piraeus.
