Facundo Sanguinetti is reportedly close to leaving Banfield for Vélez Sarsfield, with the deal said to be in its final stages. According to TyC Sports, Vélez is close to finalizing an 18-month loan with a purchase option for the 25-year-old Argentinian goalkeeper. This potential transfer comes after a move to Universidad de Chile collapsed. According to journalist César Luis Merlo, that move fell through at the last minute because the Chilean club had limited funds after signing Igor Lichnovsky. If Sanguinetti's departure is confirmed, Banfield is expected to pursue Diego Rodríguez from Argentinos Juniors and has reportedly resumed talks with his representative. Sanguinetti joined Banfield in January 2023, has a contract that expires at the end of 2026, and has made 20 domestic league appearances in the 2025/2026 season. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.50m.
