Leeds United have been linked with a move for Brentford midfielder Fabio Carvalho. Graeme Bailey believes it is highly unlikely that Brentford will allow his departure to a rival club. Brentford are unlikely to make their rivals stronger in the middle of the season.

Leeds United have shown a sustained interest in acquiring Fabio Carvalho, currently a player at Brentford. Carvalho's father has reportedly advised him to depart from Brentford due to the limited playing opportunities he has had, with only two Premier League starts and a total of 284 minutes on the field. Leeds had made an earlier attempt to sign him on loan from Liverpool, but Brentford managed to secure his transfer with a club record deal worth £27.5 million. Leeds' chief executive, Angus Kinnear, confirmed that Carvalho is among their targets for the January transfer window.
