As Pumas UNAM continues its search for another striker ahead of the Clausura 2026, 28-year-old Argentine forward Ezequiel Ponce of Houston Dynamo is among the options being considered. The club's management and coaching staff, led by Efraín Juárez, believe another attacker is necessary to add depth for their participation in both the Liga MX and the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Ponce is part of a list of alternatives being explored by the club after a move for another target, Robert Morales, appears unlikely. This list also includes Ronaldo Martinez and Alfredo Morelos. Ponce joined Houston Dynamo in July 2024 and is under contract until June 2027. He has previously scored three goals in six appearances for the Argentina U23 national team.
