Championship club Wrexham are competing with German side Mainz to sign 21-year-old Swedish Hammarby right-back Hampus Skoglund. Wrexham are reportedly working on a deal valued at £2.6 million for the defender. However, sources in Germany claim that Mainz is currently in the leading position for Skoglund, who is under contract until December 2029 and has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, with Girona and Parma also recently linked. The defender has been capped 12 times for the Sweden U21 team, scoring one goal. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.20m. In November 2025, Hammarby's valuation was reported to be around €3-4 million.
