According to Milliyet, Erik Botheim is the leading candidate in Trabzonspor's ongoing search for a striker, and the Black Sea side wants to sign the Norwegian for a fee of 4-5 million euros.

Erik Botheim's agent, Jim Solbakken, told Turkish outlet Ajansspor that news linking the player with Trabzonspor is accurate and that they have reached an agreement on personal terms. Solbakken has stated that Trabzonspor and Malmö are negotiating the price, and that Malmö FF is demanding six million euros for the striker.

Both Trabzonspor and PAOK have submitted proposals to Malmo to acquire 26-year-old Erik Botheim. A tweet from Anel Avdic reported that both clubs have placed bids for the Malmo FF player and are attempting to sign the Norwegian before their respective transfer windows close. The interest in the forward follows his performance this season, in which he has scored ten goals and provided three assists. The Norwegian international, who has two caps for his country, joined Malmö in February 2024 and has a contract that runs until the end of 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €3.50m.
