Emiliano Rigoni Transfer from León to São Paulo
ESPN BR reports on the agreement reached between São Paulo, León, and Emiliano Rigoni for a loan transfer. São Paulo has reached an agreement with León and Emiliano Rigoni for a loan transfer. The transfer was requested by São Paulo's coach Hernán Crespo. The contract will last one season, pending a medical examination and contract signing. Rigoni previously played for São Paulo and had a successful period under Crespo's management.
Emiliano Rigoni, who is currently with León, is in talks to make a return to São Paulo. The move has the backing of Hernán Crespo, who has reportedly given his approval for São Paulo to pursue the attacker. The negotiations are described as challenging, but not unachievable, and they are distinct from those involving Marcos Leonardo. Rigoni, aged 32, participated in 18 matches for León since the last season, during which he scored one goal and made one assist. Before his time in Mexico, he spent almost three years at Austin FC, where he recorded six goals and six assists. Rigoni had previously played for São Paulo in 2021 under the management of Crespo, becoming an important player during the CONMEBOL Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro, until his performance declined after Crespo's departure. São Paulo is hopeful that his return will strengthen their attack, which is currently weakened by several injuries.
