Het Nieuwsblad reports that Genk is attempting to sign 18-year-old goalkeeper Emile Doucouré from Beerschot. The report adds that Doucouré, who holds both Malian and Belgian nationality, is a Belgian youth international considered a great talent and has previously attracted interest from several Belgian and foreign top clubs. According to the same report, Genk aims to take advantage of the player's current situation, as he is now third choice at his club after an injury prevented him from becoming the first-choice keeper in the summer, and the initial plan is for him to join Jong Genk. David Van den Broeck also reported that KRC Genk is trying to sign the Beerschot goalkeeper, who would begin with Jong Genk. Doucouré has one cap for Belgium's U19 team. His contract with Beerschot VA runs until June 30, 2028, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €300k.
