Emam Ashour leaving Al Ahly?
Africafoot reports that the American club New York Red Bulls has officially submitted an offer to Al Ahly SC to acquire Emam Ashour. The offer is for a six-month loan valued at 1.5 million dollars, with a purchase option set at 5 million dollars. This proposal was presented to the management of the Cairo club by the Belgian agent Jacob, who was also involved in the transfer of Wessam Abou Ali to Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer. Emam Ashour and his agent, Adam Watani, have given their agreement in principle to this move. In addition to the sporting opportunity that MLS presents, the 27-year-old Egyptian player could receive several contractual advantages, which include the possibility of obtaining American citizenship in the case of a permanent transfer. Ashour, who is currently used as a forward at the Egyptian club, is generating growing interest on the international market. His contract with Al Ahly is valid until June 30, 2028. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €4.00m. Al Ahly must now decide on the offer.
