AS Roma is considering the 25-year-old North Macedonian midfielder Eljif Elmas as an alternative to Jadon Sancho after a loan deal with Manchester United for Sancho fell through. Roma's opportunity hinges on making a purchase offer, as the club had reached an agreement with Manchester United on a loan with an obligation to buy for 23 million euros, but Sancho declined the move himself. Elmas, who is currently with RB Leipzig, is also attracting interest from his former club SSC Napoli, which has offered a 1.5 million euro loan fee and an 11.5 million euro purchase option. Nonetheless, Leipzig is insistent on a sale, as Elmas has not managed to establish himself at the club. His contract with the German side extends until 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €14 million.
