Elisha Owusu, who was the captain of Auxerre until May, is leaving the club with one year remaining on his contract, which was due to run until 2027. The 28-year-old Ghanaian international midfielder, whose salary was considerable for the club, is set to join the promoted Turkish team Erzurumspor. The deal will earn Auxerre €1 million, excluding bonuses. Owusu had arrived from La Gantoise in January 2023 for a fee of €500,000 and was recently left on the bench during a friendly match against Bremen. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €4.00m. TSG Hoffenheim had also been linked with the player.
