Athletic Club has signed 19-year-old winger Efe Korkut from the reserve team of Stuttgart. Korkut, who was born in San Sebastián, holds both Spanish and Turkish nationality. He has signed a contract until 2028 that includes an option for a two-year extension. The club did not officially announce the transfer fee, but it is reported to be around half a million euros plus performance-based bonuses. This season, Korkut played 16 matches with Stuttgart II and scored one goal. He also participated in friendly games with the first team. He has been capped three times for the Türkiye U19 national team, scoring once. Korkut will begin training with Athletic's reserve team, Bilbao Athletic, this week and could make his debut on Saturday. The club's plan is for him to play with Bilbao Athletic for the current season. A decision on his possible inclusion in the first team's preseason will be made in the summer.
