Eduard Florescu Transfer from Yelimay Semey to Unirea Slobozia

Eduard Florescu has made a return to the Romanian Superliga by joining Unirea Slobozia on a free transfer, following a stint of several months at Yelimay in Kazakhstan. Valeriu Iftime, the owner of FC Botoșani, where Florescu had three spells, commented that this move represents a step backward for the 28-year-old midfielder. Iftime referred to Florescu as a cherished player, calling him the "haiducul frumos" of Botoșani and comparing him to a boomerang due to his tendency to return to the club. He shared that he had a personal connection with Florescu, admired his unique talent, and even prayed for him when he left for Kazakhstan. Although he views the transfer as a regression, Iftime expressed hope that Florescu will achieve success at Slobozia, emphasizing that he is still young and noting that playing in Liga 1 remains an advantage. He also recognized Slobozia as a formidable team, which has previously managed to secure victories against Botoșani.
