Olympiacos had targeted Charleroi's 22-year-old French defensive midfielder, Etienne Camara, for scouting. According to reports, information about this was leaked from a specific source to Panathinaikos. As a result, Panathinaikos moved to acquire the player immediately, rather than waiting until the summer. Camara joined Charleroi in February 2024 and has a contract that runs until June 2027. He has been capped four times for France at the U20 level. In the current 2025/2026 Jupiler Pro League season, Camara has made 21 appearances, during which he has scored one goal and provided two assists. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.50m.
