During the last summer transfer window, Juventus was reportedly willing to consider concrete offers for the 25-year-old Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović, particularly from foreign clubs, even though he was not officially on the market. According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Villarreal was one of the clubs that made a determined attempt to sign him. After receiving the go-ahead from Juventus, the management of the Spanish club is said to have met with the player's entourage and presented a detailed proposal rich in motivations. Vlahović's contract with Juventus runs until June 2026 and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €35 million.
