Strasbourg has confirmed the signing of defensive midfielder Diogo Sousa from Vitoria Guimarães. The contract is for five seasons, until June 2031. The transfer fee is estimated at 10 million euros, excluding bonuses.

According to Record, Vitoria Guimaraes' vice-president, Rui Rodrigues, confirmed the transfer of Diogo Sousa to Strasbourg during a debate organized as part of the presidential elections. Diogo Sousa is set to sign with the club from Alsace.

Strasbourg will sign 20-year-old Portuguese youth international defensive midfielder Diogo Sousa from Vitoria Guimaraes for a fee reported to be €10 million plus bonuses. This signing is part of Strasbourg's preparations for the next season, during which the club is also expected to sell Valentin Barco and has decided against activating the purchase option for Rafael Luis, who was on loan from Benfica. Sousa, who is under contract with his formative club until 2028, will not play in the final league match against Nacional Madeira. The player is expected to arrive in Alsace in the coming days.
