Negotiations are ongoing for a contract renewal between Remo and the 25-year-old Uruguayan winger Diego Hernández. According to his agents, Daniel Kozik and Javier Modernell, there had been an aligned agreement for a three-year contract with Remo and Botafogo. The agents also stated that, as the then director had said, only final adjustments were pending. Following a change in Remo's football management, the club presented a new proposal with terms that were lower than those previously agreed upon. Diego Hernández prioritized remaining at Remo and turned down more financially favorable offers, but did not accept the new terms due to dissatisfaction. The agents submitted a counterproposal that included detailed financial and contractual points. One of his agents, Daniel Kozik, stated that a quick resolution is necessary and that it is still Hernández's wish to stay at Remo, provided there is balance and recognition from the club. Hernández is on loan at Remo from Botafogo until 30/06/2026, and his contract with Botafogo runs until 31/12/2026. This season, he has made four appearances across all competitions, and his current market value is €1.80m according to Transfermarkt.
