Dennis Smarsch Transfer from Hertha BSC to Horsens
Dennis Smarsch is set to leave Hertha BSC to join AC Horsens in Denmark. Hertha's sports director, Benjamin Weber, explained that they had brought Dennis back to Hertha last year to offer him a new opportunity in professional football. They had agreed to let him go if an opportunity for more playtime elsewhere presented itself, which led to him approaching them with the desire to move to Denmark. Smarsch clarified that his decision to leave is not against Hertha BSC but is aimed at advancing his career. He expressed a desire to possibly return to Hertha BSC in the future. The 26-year-old Smarsch played his only second division match for Hertha last season on the 34th match day against Hannover. Seeking a new challenge, he is now set to join the Danish second division team, AC Horsens. With his departure, U17 World Champion Konstantin Heide has been signed from Unterhaching for a fee of 50,000 Euros to replace him at Hertha BSC.
