Brentford are following 21-year-old Ecuadorian international Denil Castillo, who is a candidate to participate in this year's World Cup. The defensive midfielder for Danish club Midtjylland is also being monitored by fellow Premier League side Bournemouth and by Benfica. Benfica's interest is not recent, and it is reported that their scouts have been watching the player for over a year. With Castillo under contract until 2029, it is understood that the Danish club is demanding a transfer fee of at least €6 million. Castillo, who has earned 4 caps for Ecuador, joined Midtjylland from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2024 for a €4.0 million fee.
