David Watson Transfer from Kilmarnock to Aberdeen
Daily Record reports that Aberdeen is interested in David Watson, a 20-year-old central midfielder from Kilmarnock. Aberdeen are monitoring Kilmarnock’s David Watson. According to Record Sport, the Dons are long-term admirers of the Scotland under-21 captain. Watson's contract expires in the summer, and he could begin pre-contract talks in January. If Aberdeen were to agree to a deal with Watson, they would need to negotiate a fee with Kilmarnock or go to a tribunal. If the matter went to a tribunal, the fee would likely be around the £639,920 that Rangers was ordered to pay Aberdeen for Connor Barron last season. The Scottish Cup winners enquired about Watson during the summer transfer window but could not agree to a deal with Killie, which was looking for a seven-figure fee at that time. Aberdeen has had a long-standing interest in the player for several transfer windows. Aberdeen is aware that Killie is looking to extend Watson’s contract and that several clubs from England and Scotland will also be interested. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €1.80m. He has started the 2025/2026 Scottish Premiership season with one goal and three assists in three appearances.
