Globo.com reports that Vitória is interested in signing 30-year-old Brazilian winger David from Vasco and attempted to sign the forward who was developed in their youth system, but the talks did not progress. The initial discussions were for a loan, but Vasco's management would only agree to a deal that included an option or obligation to buy. The management of the club from Bahia did not accept the financial values involved. Vasco's football department is open to negotiating David's departure for 2026, as the club is planning some exits to make room for new signings. Due to the conditions presented by both Vasco and David's staff, Vitória is now unlikely to resume negotiations with the Rio de Janeiro club. David joined Vasco in January 2025 and his contract is valid until the end of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m.
