David Seger leaving CSKA Sofia?
According to Sportal.bg, CSKA will attempt to separate from David Seger. The midfielder was not a regular starter in the autumn and has a high salary. David Seger has a valid contract until the summer of 2027, and the club will try to transfer him to recover some of the invested funds.
The management of CSKA wants to end David Seger's contract via mutual agreement. There is little serious interest in the midfielder, and it is improbable that a team will be found to pay the 400,000 euros invested in him. Seger's contract runs until the summer of 2028, but he is not part of coach Hristo Yanev's plans. Yanev did not include the player in the squad for the away game against Cherno More or for the match against Lokomotiv Sofia. The player's long contract is problematic because he is due salaries for another 30 months, and the sum is enormous. According to "Mach Telegraph," an assumption is being made that Seger's case will be addressed similarly to the cases of Liam Cooper, Zyumur Byutuchi, Mika Pinto, Thibaut Vion, and others. Those players were considered unnecessary and their contracts were ended by mutual agreement after long and difficult negotiations.
CSKA plans to end its association with the 26-year-old Swedish midfielder David Seger. During the winter, CSKA will seek to separate from him. If they fail to find a club for him, the 'Reds' will probably terminate his contract by mutual agreement. The player is also unhappy with being a regular substitute at CSKA. Seger joined the club in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2028. He has made 14 domestic league appearances this season without any goals or assists. His market value is estimated to be €400k, according to Transfermarkt.
