David Ricardo Transfer from Botafogo to Zenit
David Ricardo's transfer from Botafogo to Dynamo Moscow has stalled, prompting other clubs to renew their interest in the 23-year-old Brazilian centre-back. The clubs had an agreement that was at an advanced stage for a reported €6.5 million, but the deal paused due to a disagreement over personal terms for the player and his agents. Among the teams that consequently re-approached Botafogo are Zenit, CSKA Moscow, and Torino from Italy. Zenit, the team from Saint Petersburg, is considering David Ricardo as a potential replacement in the event that the Brazilian Nino departs. Ricardo joined Botafogo in January 2025 for a reported €1.7 million and has a contract until the end of 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €7.00m. In January 2026, Botafogo's asking price was reportedly between €8 million and €9 million, and Torino had a loan offer with a €6 million option to buy rejected.
