Botafogo recently rejected an offer from Italian club Torino for 23-year-old Brazilian defender David Ricardo. The proposal was for a loan, which Botafogo turned down because the club felt the business model was not suitable. Following a strong 2025 season, David Ricardo is also being monitored by other Italian clubs and may receive new bids when the transfer window opens. His contract with the club is valid until December 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €7.00m. Botafogo signed the defender from Ceará in January 2025 for a reported fee of €1.7 million.
