David Datro Fofana Transfer from Chelsea to Fatih Karagümrük

The Sun reports that Chelsea have sent David Datro Fofana on a season-long loan to Fatih Karagümrük S.K. in Turkey after he was frozen out in the club's 'bomb squad'. The loan was finalised on Turkey's deadline day. Fofana had been training away from the first team and was considered surplus to requirements following new signings. Chelsea confirmed the transfer in an official 81-word statement on their website.

David Datro Fofana, a centre-forward who has been considered unwanted at Chelsea since the summer, has completed a move after being encouraged to leave before the end of the transfer window. The player, who was previously linked with Nice and other clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Celtic before staying in London, has returned to Turkey, where he spent the first half of last season on loan at Göztepe. His new club, Fatih Karagümrük, who currently sit 12th in the Süper Lig, announced in an official statement that the 22-year-old Ivorian has arrived on a season-long loan that includes an option to buy. Fofana's contract with Chelsea runs until 2029, and his market value is currently estimated by Transfermarkt to be €6.00m.
