David Bates has joined Amedspor in Turkey. The 29-year-old centre-back moved from Standard Liege after serving two years of a three-year contract he signed in 2024. Amedspor, who were promoted and are set to play in the Super Lig for the first time, have signed the Scotland international on a two-year deal that includes an option for a third year. On social media, Amedspor announced that their club has signed centre-back David Bates to a 2+1 year contract to strengthen the defensive line in line with squad planning for the 2026–2027 season. The defender has four caps for Scotland. Bates made 18 league appearances for Standard Liège in the 2025/2026 season. His market value is estimated to be €1.80m by Transfermarkt.
